SUMMARY:National Planning Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Order of the Arrow National Planning Meeting (NPM) is an annual gathering of key youth and adult leaders from across the organization to shape the future of the OA’s programs and initiatives. Held each winter\, this collaborative event brings together national committee members\, region and section leaders\, and selected advisers to review current programs\, evaluate feedback from lodges nationwide\, and develop plans for the coming year. \nDuring the meeting\, participants focus on advancing the OA’s mission by refining induction processes\, enhancing leadership development opportunities\, strengthening lodge support\, and preparing for major national events such as conferences and high-adventure programs. Through a combination of large-group sessions\, breakout discussions\, and strategic workshops\, attendees work together to ensure that the OA continues to deliver meaningful experiences rooted in brotherhood\, cheerfulness\, and service. \nA highlight of the National Planning Meeting is the annual election of the National Chief and National Vice Chief\, who are chosen by their peers to serve as the top youth leaders of the Order of the Arrow. In addition\, region leadership is selected\, including the Gateway Region Chief and Eastern Region Chief\, ensuring strong representation and coordination across the organization’s geographic areas. These elections reflect the OA’s commitment to youth-led leadership\, as candidates are evaluated on their vision\, experience\, and dedication to serving Arrowmen nationwide. \nThe National Planning Meeting serves as a critical touchpoint for aligning goals\, sharing best practices\, and equipping leaders with the tools and vision needed to support lodges and Arrowmen around the world.
